Webhead's Works-in-Progress

I'm publishing some of my own work as a writer here. I plan to post a listing for the Midnight Times in Novel & Short Story Writer's Market. So if you're interested in an opportunity to get published, and think you have poetry or fiction that fits the guidelines and format of MT, feel free to contact me to ask about submissions. Try the links below for the editor's most recently published work.

FICTION

Admittedly, I need to get some more of my short fiction online, but so far I have a couple of short shorts in Pavilion and The Vampire posted.

I absolutely plan to get some of my short stories online ASAP. So much of my web site design time has been spent on rebuilding the interface and revising templates. My most recent addition is a chapter excerpt from my unfinished novel Nightmare. For the time being, this is it.

POETRY

I have posted more of my poetry because poems are shorter and so it's easier to do that final revision and then publish to the HTML format. I was a long time Word Perfect user, but I have finally given in to the Evil Empire and now use Microsoft Word to edit my type written documents. My most recent addition to the Tome is Sonnet of Sadness. Other poetry I've had time to publish includes The Eye, I am the Cyclops, Tower of Babel, Cristy, and Wasteland.

The Epic Café

Think of the Epic Café as that lonely coffee shop off the beaten path--somewhere down a dark side alley from what used to be Main Street a century ago. It's a place you only know about because some languid stranger who likes to frequent poetry readingsThe Epic Café shoved a flyer in your face at the local bookstore. The Café pulls together the literary ties of the Tower in a unique place that provides a single point of access. The main pathways outward from this discrete basement local are the Webhead's CD-Rom Menu and The Tome--which leads to the darkest recesses of the imagination. This is the place where creative thought melds with the vast reaches of Cyberspace--the printed word enhanced by the multidimensional nature of the Web. Feel free to explore, but realize you do so at your own risk...

Webhead's Tome

Jay Manning is Webhead. The Tome, featuring original works by Webhead, is an online preview of fiction, poetry, essays, and non-fiction articles by the Midnight Times editor. I contribute to The Tome when I can. For the newest works check the sections above where it says NEW! Through the Tome I promote "completed" works as well as works-in-progress.

The Wasteland

"Le Prince d' Aquitaine à la tour abolie¹/These fragments I have shored against my ruins..." Two lines of T. S. Eliot best describe this dark inferno of The Midnight Times. Herein The Wasteland you will find the eternal depth from which we cannot escape.

¹ "The Prince of Aquitaine in the ruined tower." One of the cards in the Tarot pack is the "tower struck by lightning."

TowerWeb Update

ST. LOUIS, MO--Finally, I have taken care of business and put it down on the digital notepad. TowerWeb Productions has moved from the creation, draft, "I'm not sure where the heck I'm going with this" stage on an ISP directory to a full blown Internet domain on the World Wide Web. In addition, my trademark application for TowerWeb Productions has been accepted (pending a few minor changes) by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Webhead has officially staked his claim in Cyberspace!

What is TowerWeb?

Take a look at the meta tags for TowerWeb's home page and you'll find the description reads: "TowerWeb Productions is an Internet based digital publishing company accessible via the World Wide Web." Electronic publishing, or "e-publishing", presents a world of opportunity for the amateur creative writer. The Tower, Webhead, The Tome, The Midight Times, The Alternative Library, and Library Resource Center are a combination of all my interests published right here on the World Wide Web.

"I'm Working on It!"

I've been working very hard to get everything updated so I can move it to TowerWebProductions.com. In updating my pages I have been reviewing my overall objective and revisiting some of the ideas that have gone into creating The Tower. Although previously everything resided on an ISP web space because it has been in development to this point, and I haven't made any effort to market my web site, I've already had a steady stream of Netizens contacting me as they find information and resources I've published...
